Drew Doughty makes his season debut
The big news entering this game was the return of Drew Doughty, who had yet to play a game this season after suffering a fractured ankle during the preseason. There was no easing Doughty back in this one as he would lead all defensemen on the Kings with 23:51 of ice time, including two minutes on the power play.
There certainly was going to be some rust and he didn't make the type of impact fans have come to know. However, it doesn't seem to be any limitations on him moving forward.
The biggest question is if he will remain with Jacob Moverare or return to being paired with Mikey Anderson. It wouldn't be surprising to see Jim Hiller to try and make changes before the next game and that being one of them.
