Darcy Kuemper continues to play at a high level for the Kings
Darcy Kuemper had not allowed a goal in four straight periods prior to Victor Hedman's goal in the first period. He would shut out the Edmonton Oilers in the third period before a complete game shutout of the New Jersey Devils on New Year's Day.
Even with the goal, Kuemper once again was exceptional in net as he would stop 33 of 34 shots and it is not an easy feat when considering the Tampa Bay Lightning entered Saturday as the highest-scoring team in the NHL on a goal per game basis.
Since returning from injured reserve at the beginning of December, Kuemper has been incredible in net and is a big reason for the Kings to continue to come away with points. In fact, he has now had a point in each of his nine starts since returning and gone 7-0-2 and it has not been easy with 33 saves in each of the last two games against very good teams.
