Phillip Danault

2024-25 Cap Hit: $5.5 million

Among the four players on this list, Phillip Danault would create the most cap space as he has a cap hit of $5.5 million in the fourth year of a six-year contract. The Kings center has had arguably the worst season in his time in Los Angeles with only five goals and 23 assists through 52 games.

The advanced analytics don't tell much of a better story as he has the lowest expected goals per 60 minutes (0.65), goals per 60 minutes (0.32), and points per 60 minutes (1.81) during his time with the Kings, according to MoneyPuck.

A cap hit of $5.5 million is a lot for a player who is probably the third center on the Los Angeles Kings. The challenge for the Kings will be finding a team that isn't on his 10-team no-trade list and one that would be willing to take on that contract.
