Jordan Spence
Another player who made notable improvements from the prior year was defenseman Jordan Spence. After playing in 71 games in 2023-24, he would play almost every regular season game this past season and finished with four goals and 24 assists while improving his +/- from +5 to +23.
The big decision the Kings have this offseason is whether or not to bring back Vladislav Gavrikov and that could potentially determine if Spence is available in a trade. If the Kings don't re-sign Gavrikov, it is hard to imagine the Kings would trade Spence, as they would lose two of their Top 6 defensemen.
However, if Gavrikov returns, it wouldn't be surprising if Spence were traded. He is a young player that is coming off his best season to date and will also be a restricted free agent after this season. If the Kings already believe it is unlikely they will sign him to a long-term deal, then trading him now might bring back the biggest return.
