Brandt Clarke
It was certainly an interesting season for Brandt Clarke and one that left many fans scratching their head. The former first round pick started off so well and was one of the players to step up in Doughty's absence with 11 points in the first 11 games of the season.
However, as the season went along, Clarke's role was inconsistent at best and non-existent at worst. He saw his average time on the ice dip to under 15 minutes after being close to 20 minutes and he even was a healthy scratch for multiple games at the end of January.
There wasn't really any clear reason given for why Clarke's role was diminished over the course of the season by Jim Hiller but there is no denying that he can be a dynamic player for this team when given the opportunity. Hopefully, Ken Holland recognizes that and can get the rest of the organization to buy in as he is the best offensive defenseman the Kings have.
There almost certainly will be changes for the Los Angeles Kings this offseason but if Ken Holland builds around these players, it should help improve the roster not only this season but set them up for success past this year.
