Mikey Anderson

Another player who it feels has been around for a long time is Mikey Anderson, who was a fourth round pick in the 2017 NHL Draft and has played at least 50 games in each of the past four seasons for the Kings. He has been paired mostly with Drew Doughty but took on a bigger role this season on the defense when Doughty missed the first half of the regular season with his ankle injury.

He finished the season with a career-high average time on ice of 22:41 but where he really made an impact was on the penalty kill. He had a career-high in icetime with 228 minutes in those situations or 65.8% of possible ice time.

At only 25 years old, Anderson has plenty of good hockey ahead of him and he should be the player to take over as the leader of the defense once Drew Doughty's time with the Kings is over. He is under contract for another six seasons and should be a fixture for the long-term in this defense.
