Matt Duchene

The past two seasons, Matt Duchene has played on one-year deals with the Dallas Stars, but after another productive season is hoping for a long-term deal. The veteran center recently said he would 'love to stay' in Dallas, but also is 'looking for some stability.'

The challenge for the Stars is that they don't have much cap space this summer to really offer Duchene a long-term deal, and that could force the veteran to explore opportunities outside of Dallas. He could end up being a perfect fit for the Los Angeles Kings if they want to upgrade the center position on their third line.

The past two seasons, Duchene has had 147 points and averaged a point per game this past year. He would fall into a similar category to Tavares as he will be turning 35 this upcoming season and a three-year contract would make a lot of sense with how he has played.
