Ken Holland should not be waiting to discuss new contracts with these players.

The Los Angeles Kings are probably done adding anything to their roster this summer after the moves they made in the first couple of days of free agency. They may still explore the trade market if a trade makes sense but the roster for this season seems pretty well set.

However, general manager Ken Holland's work isn't done yet and now he must focus on solidifying the roster past this season. That would include looking at players who might be entering the final year of their contracts and looking for extensions.

These are four players that could be getting new contracts this summer from the LA Kings, starting with one that has to get done before the start of the season.

Alex Laferriere

Alex Laferriere is a restricted free agent this offseason after the LA Kings made a qualifying offer before the start of free agency. However, due to the CBA and the number of games Laferriere has played, no other team can offer Laferriere an offer sheet.

The biggest question for Laferriere will be what type of contract he gets going into next season because any new deal will have to be able to fit under the current salary cap. At this point, a two or three year deal in the $4 or $5 million AAV makes sense and shouldn't require a bunch of back and forth.
