Jacob Moverare
The injury to Drew Doughty during preseason opened the door for a player like Jacob Moverare to get on the ice on a consistent basis. He would play in 49 regular season games, which was a career high, and finished with one goal, seven assists, 60 blocked shots and 31 hits while posting a solid Corsi For% of 52.8%.
After the return of Doughty, Moverare's ice time was much more sporadic and had only 18 games over the final three months. However, with the departure of Jordan Spence, Moverare looked like a logical fit to replace him on the third pair.
Unfortunately, the Kings would sign Cody Ceci and Brian Dumoulin to multi-year contracts and now Moverare at best will be competing for the seventh defenseman spot on nights that Los Angeles goes with an 11-7 roster split.
