The Los Angeles Kings continued cutting down the training camp roster to 45 players on Tuesday morning. Multiple forwards for the Los Angeles Kings returned to the Ontario Reign in the AHL on Sep. 30
LA reportedly loaned three forwards to the Reign in the AHL early this week, including right winger Aatu Jamsen, right winger Kaleb Lawrence, and winger Koehn Ziemmer on Tuesday. The Kings also released defenseman Parker Berge from his training camp tryout deal with the team and assigned him to the Reign this week.
All four of the players the Kings sent down to the AHL to Ontario today, including Jamsen, Lawrence, Ziemmer, and Berge will report to training camp for the Reign on Sep. 30.
This news comes after the Reign started AHL training camp early this week on Monday (Sep. 30). The Reign started with a smaller group on the roster for the start of training camp this past Monday. But the group will continue to expand on the projected roster for the Reign in the AHL for this upcoming season later this week on Wednesday and Thursday.
All three forwards the Kings assigned to the Reign in the AHL on Sep. 30 (Jamsen, Lawrence, and Ziemmer) played in Ontario this past season in the 2024-25 campaign. Jamsen and Lawrence spent the majority of this past season in the AHL with the Reign. Ziemmer was called up late down the stretch this past season to spend the final stretch run with the Reign.
None of the four players the Kings sent down to the AHL today played a game in the preseason this fall for head coach Jim Hiller and LA.
Jamsen, Lawrence, and Ziemmer all played in the 2025 Golden State Rookie Faceoff for the Kings a few weekends ago in early-to-mid September in rookie camp.
