Jay Woodcroft (Anaheim Ducks assistant coach)

From multiple angles, Anaheim Ducks assistant coach Jay Woodcroft appears to check several important boxes for the Kings during this coaching search. Woodcroft also has strong organizational ties to Holland from their time together with the Edmonton Oilers.

It was reported this past weekend that the Kings are at least expected to reach out to Woodcroft to kick the tires on the possibility of him being the next full-time head coach for the organization this offseason.

There was also a report this past offseason that indicated that the Kings had interest in Woodcroft in coaching discussions in 2025.

Bruce Cassidy (former Vegas Golden Knights head coach)

Possibly the most immediately impactful and best coaching candidate for the Kings and Holland to win right away in the Pacific Division this offseason is former Vegas Golden Knights head coach Bruce Cassidy. Hiring Cassidy would signal that the Kings still believe the current core is capable of competing immediately in the Western Conference.

Multiple reports have already indicated that the Kings and Holland are interested in interviewing Cassidy this spring on the coaching carousel. The hitch is that Vegas has been preventing the Kings and Edmonton Oilers in the Pacific Division from formally interviewing Cassidy.

The Golden Knights may also be hesitant to allow Cassidy to join a division rival that could directly compete with Vegas for positioning in the Pacific Division next season.
