The next two weeks are probably going to be the most exciting period of the entire offseason for the Los Angeles Kings and the rest of the NHL. The first official event is on Friday with the start of the 2025 NHL Draft, which will be taking place in Los Angeles, followed by the start of free agency a few days later on July 1st.

However, the days leading up to the NHL Draft will have plenty of rumors and moves as teams try to position themselves to the best of their ability to have a successful NHL Draft and start to free agency. While the Kings haven't made anything official yet, they are certainly working behind the scenes as general manager Ken Holland hopes to make a big first impression with the Los Angeles Kings.

When looking ahead to the NHL Draft and then free agency, these are four bold predictions for the Los Angeles Kings.

Kings will trade Jordan Spence or Trevor Moore before or during the NHL Draft

The first real chance that Ken Holland is going to have to put his stamp on the roster will be the NHL Draft at the end of this week. The Kings will have seven picks starting with their first round pick at 24th overall.

As much as the Kings don't want to completely ignore the future, the focus is to win now and build the best NHL roster they can that could compete for a Stanley Cup. That is why I believe they will not only consider trading their first-round pick but also include some combination of Jordan Spence or Trevor Moore to bring back a difference maker.

A trade like that would definitely make a big first impression and potentially have fans excited based on what the return would be.
