Concern: Quinton Byfield

Another player that entered with high expectations was Quinton Byfield as the former first round pick was coming off a season with 20 goals. After playing left wing last season with Anze Kopitar and Adiran Kempe, he moved back to center which was considered to be his more natural position.

He had a really strong preseason and the hype and excitement only got bigger going into the regular season. Unfortunately, the regular season has not been nearly as productive and through 21 games has only three goals and seven assists.

Byfield would open the season without a goal in the first 13 games and then after back-to-back goals against Minnesota and Vancouver, he had a six-game streak without a goal before ending that against the Seattle Kraken.

There shouldn't be complete panic around Quinton Byfield and he will almost certainly turn it around and be a big part of this offense. However, the expectations are going to have to be lowered (at least for this season) and maybe it is only another 20 goals.
