If there is a world where the Kings could manage to pull off a trade deal where they don't have to give up Quinton Byfield or defenseman Brandt Clarke, while still getting Larkin in the fold this offseason, that would be the ideal trade package.
Turcotte has adapted his game well to the Kings' current roster lineup. He's become a more adept two-way center who is getting better at finding the softer areas of the ice and making plays to help generate turnovers in the defensive and neutral zones.
This trade package should work well for both teams involved. Not only do the Red Wings get valuable future draft capital and assets, including a 2027 first-round draft pick and a 2028 second-round draft pick, but they also get a former top-five pick in the draft in Turcotte from the Kings.
Of the three trade packages on this list, this is probably the one that the Kings would be the most excited about. Not having to give up either Byfield or Clarke and still getting Larkin in the fold, while Detroit still gets a first-round draft pick in 2027, works out for all parties involved.
