It look a little bit for the Los Angeles Kings to get their scoring going against the Anaheim Ducks but once they did, they didn't look back and would win 4-1. While it took a bit for the Kings to find the back of the net, there were some positives from the game as a whole.

These are three stats that the Los Angeles Kings should be happy about from Sunday night.

Faceoff Win Percentage

One area in which the Los Angeles Kings have struggled a bit this season is in faceoffs and they have been losing more than they have won. That wasn't the case against the Anaheim Ducks as they would win 62.3% of the faceoffs.

However, this is only the second game this season that they won the faceoff battle and finished a game over 50%. The player in particular who stood out here was Alex Turcotte as he would win 8 of his 10 faceoffs against the Ducks. It has been a great start to the season for Turcotte and this was just another example of that.

Shots Against

The Los Angeles Kings goaltending has been somewhat inconsistent as Darcy Kuemper had two great games to begin the season before allowing eight goals against the Senators. The last three games David Rittich has started and after being pulled halfway through his first start after allowing four goals to the Maple Leafs, has given up only two over the past two games.

One of the reasons for the struggles has been a significant increase in shots compared to last season. However, that wasn't the case against the Ducks as the Kings allowed only 15 shots all game. This was the first time all season that they kept a team under 25 shots in a game.

It will be unlikely that the Kings can limit teams to this few shots but if they can stay around that 25 shot mark, it will be a big help for the goaltenders.

Penalties

It was a relatively clean game by both sides in terms of penalties as the two teams combined for only five total. The Kings had three of them but it was the first time all season they had fewer than five penalties in a game.

Earlier in the season, the penalty kill by the Los Angeles Kings was really good but then would give up six power play goals in total against the Senators and Maple Leafs. The past two games the Kings have killed eight straight power play opportunities but similar to the shots, if they can limit the opposing team having a man advantage, it will only be good news for the Kings.
