3 restricted free agent defensemen that makes sense for LA Kings to target

Could the Kings bring any of these players to Los Angeles with an offer sheet?

Nicolas Hague

Similar to the New York Rangers, the Vegas Golden Knights have limited cap space and are likely going to want to be aggressive in free agency. In that scenario, they will probably try to trade defenseman Nicolas Hague and while they probably don't want to trade with a division rival, the Kings could make it tough on them if they put together an offer sheet for Nicolas Hague.

He is a big defenseman at 6'6" and 245 pounds that has given the Golden Knights solid production over the past four seasons while averaging between 17 and 18 minutes per game. Hague isn't as talented as Gavrikov but would be a solid left defenseman on the third line, who potentially could move up to the second line.

The challenge with Hague is that he might not command a big contract and can the Kings put together an offer sheet that doesn't necessarily overpay but is big enough that the Golden Knights won't match. There isn't a situation where Hague should be the first option, and frankly there is a question of how much of an upgrade he would be over someone like Jacob Moverare, but at the very least warrants a discussion within the Kings' front office.
