Los Angeles Kings are at home

The biggest reason that the Los Angeles Kings finally are able to get a win over the Colorado Avalanche is that for the first time this season they are playing them at Crypto.com Arena. The first two meetings have been on the road and the Kings have certainly not played their best hockey when they are the visitors.

However, at home it is a very different story as they just secured their 30th home win of the season against the Ducks with a record of 30-5-4. In the last 10 games, the Kings have gone 8-2 and averaged 4.3 goals, including scoring six or more goals in four of those games, while allowing more than two goals only once.

One of the big question marks going into this game is who will be in net as Darcy Kuemper has been basically unbeatable. However, the Kings may elect to go with David Rittich as Kuemper has played a lot recently and Los Angeles does have the game against Edmonton on Monday in the start of a back-to-back.

Rittich was in net the last time the Kings played the Avalanche and gave up four goals. However, at home he has been pretty good as well with an 11-2-2 record while allowing on average 2.11 goals per game and a save percentage of .911%.

While Kuemper would help their chances more, the fact that they are at home would help David Rittich and in turn help Los Angeles beat Colorado for the first time this season.
