The Los Angeles Kings have reportedly decided not to bring back Tanner Jeannot next season, and the question now is how they will replace him. He was a physical presence on that fourth line and led the Kings in hits.

They will need to find another player with a similar mindset and one who isn't afraid of a little physicality. For the Kings, they could look at both players already within the organization as well as free agents to replace Jeannot. These are three players who could be logical replacements.

3 players who could replace Tanner Jeannot on the Los Angeles Kings next season

Jeff Malott

The first player is the one who replaced Jeannot at the end of last season after his injury. Jeannot missed the last few weeks of the regular season and the playoffs, and Malott was the player who replaced him in those games.

Prior to this season, Malott had only one NHL game in his career, but finished this season with 18 total games (12 regular season, six playoff) and had 31 hits and 13 blocks. He would officially only have one point, which was an assist, but had an incredible goal that unfortunately was taken away after a review for offsides.

There is no question going with a player who is inexperienced is a risk but Malott showed enough that he should at least compete for that spot and with him under contract, the Kings don't have to necessarily over-spend for a replacement.

Andre Lee

Another player within the organization who could replace Tanner Jeannot is Andre Lee. He began the season with the Los Angeles Kings and would make a few spot starts at various points of the season. In total, he played in 19 games and had one goal and two assists with 36 hits and 10 blocks.

It was a little surprising at the end of the season when the Kings had to replace Jeannot in the lineup that Lee wasn't the player called up and they went with Malott. He is someone who could certainly fill the void left by Jeannot's absence and should also have the chance to compete with Malott during training camp.

Justin Brazeau

In the end, the most likely scenario to replace Tanner Jeannot on the fourth line will be with either Malott or Lee. However, if Ken Holland wants to look at a free agent as a possible replacement then Justin Brazeau is one that makes sense.

According to Mayor's Manor, this is a player that fans should keep an eye on next month when free agency kicks off. This past season was his first season as a full-time NHL player and he appeared in 76 games. He would be traded at the trade deadline by the Boston Bruins to the Minnesota Wild and finished with 11 goals and 11 assists between the two teams with 123 hits and 38 blocks.

Brazeau is a big skater at 6'6" and 227 pounds that certainly can replace Jeannot's physicality but might bring a little more in terms of offensive production.
