Patrick Kane, W
Future Hall-of-Fame winger Patrick Kane is the only remaining unsigned free agent who registered at least 40 assists and double-digit goals this past regular season. The 37-year-old Kane still has something left in the tank, and he's ready to contribute on special teams on the power play.
Kane is the most accomplished player still available in free agency. While Kane isn't the same scorer and playmaker he was a decade ago for the Chicago Blackhawks, he is still a valuable weapon on special teams on the power play.
And he still has the vision and offensive instincts and playmaking to strengthen a contender's middle or top-six forward group and special teams on the power play.
A big question mark for the Kings with the hypothetical pursuit of Kane in free agency is whether Los Angeles would be able to afford his contract with their limited cap flexibility this summer.
I do want to say that it appears that Kane will not return to the Detroit Red Wings this upcoming season (per Elliotte Friedman on the 32 Thoughts podcast). He wants to play for a contender when he finds his fourth stop of his pro career this offseason.
