In a couple of days, the Los Angeles Kings and head coach Jim Hiller face off for the preseason opener on Sunday afternoon (Sep. 21) against the Anaheim Ducks in the Empire Classic in Ontario. That means we're only a few weeks away from the start of regular season hockey for the Kings this fall at Crypto.com Arena.

Hiller and the Kings go into the preseason later this month with seven games to prepare for on the ice this fall. The Kings also have a handful of scrimmages at the outset of training camp this week for the fans in LA to get a better look at the team for the projected roster for Hiller and staff this upcoming season in 2025-26.

Here are three games to watch for Kings fans going into this preseason this fall.
Sep. 21 vs. Anaheim Ducks (Ontario, CA)
Hiller had a chance to show off a new first line forward group for the Kings this past preseason last fall against the Ducks in Ontario in the Empire Classic at Toyota Arena. Anze Kopitar assisted the game-winning goal from Alex Laferriere for the Kings in a clutch 3-2 win over the Ducks last preseason in 2024.
The Kings get a chance to highlight the new talent and additions to the projected roster for this upcoming season against the Ducks in the preseason opener this fall, including defensemen Cody Ceci and Brian Dumoulin and backup goalie Anton Forsberg.
LA returns to the Golden State in California on Wednesday evening to face the Ducks at the Honda Center on Sep. 24 at 7 p.m. PT.
Sep. 23 @ Vegas Golden Knights (Las Vegas, NV)
The first game in the states this fall in the upcoming preseason for LA is in Vegas against the Central Division foe, the Vegas Golden Knights, on Tuesday night (Sep. 23). For the second time in as many years since last preseason last fall, the Kings and Knights will square off early in the preseason slate in late September at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Kings' top goalie prospect Carter George made his preseason debut last fall in 2024 for LA in a close 3-2 win over the Knights at T-Mobile Arena. Warren Foegele, Laferriere, and Alex Turcotte combined for multiple goals and a few assists to get the Kings the close win in the third period over the Knights in the last preseason.
Sep. 30 vs. Utah Mammoth (Boise, ID)
Last fall, the Kings and Utah played the first-ever preseason hockey event at the Delta Center in Utah in Salt Lake City before LA played three other conference foes from the West in the preseason. The Kings and Utah Mammoth squad will square off in the first-ever preseason game for LA at Idaho Central Arena in Boise on Sep. 30.
