The most obvious choice among all of the Oilers players to pick from on this list to be considered a rival that Kings fans loved to hate is veteran winger Corey Perry. While Kings fans wouldn't be the only team that has a bone to pick with Perry, there is definitely some bad blood coming from the rivalries formed in the Pacific Division for Los Angeles in the last 20 years or so.

Perry has managed to find a way to constantly get under opponents' skin and walk that fine line between playing physical and playing dirty.

It's not only Perry's time with the Oilers when Edmonton faced the Kings in the postseason in 2024 and 2025 that caused Kings fans to dislike him. Perry spent over a decade with Anaheim, helping to fuel one of the NHL's fiercest rivalries and giving Kings fans plenty of reasons to dislike him long before he joined the Oilers.

The Athletic actually recently listed Perry as the biggest "on-ice villain" for the Kings' franchise of any player they've faced.

Perry was already a massive headache for Kings fans when he was a member of the Ducks earlier in his NHL career. But he became even more of a nuisance when he joined the Oilers down the stretch in 2024 and faced the Kings twice in the postseason a couple of times in the past few years.

There was a significant portion of the Kings fan base that was not happy about the team signing Perry in free agency last offseason. I guess the same could be said about the Kings and Holland signing Perry again in free agency for the second time in as many years this offseason.
