Darcy Kuemper

While the Los Angeles Kings as a team have struggled for most of the road trip, Darcy Kuemper is one player where that doesn't apply, outside of the game against Detroit. On Saturday, Kuemper finished with 26 saves on 28 shots and really kept the game in reach early when the Hurricanes were putting pressure on the Kings.

The Kings had a bad January but Kuemper actually played his best hockey and without him it could have been much worse. He finshed the month with his best save percentage of .938 and and a goals against average of only 1.72.

Moving forward, the schedule gets easier for the Kings especially with the fact that they will be playing at home a lot more. If Kuemper continues to play like this, and the offense gets just a little better, they have a good chance to make a run to close out the regular season.
