Nikolaj Ehlers
If the Kings want to get faster, Nikolaj Ehlers would be a great free agent for them to target this summer. He has played the past 10 seasons with the Winnipeg Jets and has averaged over 20 goals and 50 points per season. Ehlers is also coming off his best playoff performance of his career with five goals and two assists in eight games.
The Kings were also looking for a left-handed scorer at the trade deadline and while they didn't accomplish addressing it then they could here with Ehlers.
The concern with Ehlers has always been durability as he has played in 82 games only three times in his career and once in the past seven seasons. In fact, he has been under 70 games four of the past five seasons.
Ehlers on the top line with Anze Kopitar and Adrian Kempe could certainly give the Kings a dynamic group that could transform this offense. However, they need to be prepared for the games he will likely miss at some point during the season.
