Elias Pettersson
Another trade that would be great but likely a dream is with the Vancouver Canucks for Elias Pettersson as the Kings would have to clear a big hurdle of making it worth it to the Canucks to trade with a division rival. According to David Pagnotta with The Fourth Period, Pettersson has a no-trade clause that takes effect on July 1st and the Canucks may look to trade him prior to that.
For the Canucks, it is a tough position to be in because Pettersson is coming off one of his worst seasons in recent memory as he had only 45 points in 64 games. This was after having 102 points in 2022-23 and 89 in the 2023-24 season.
For the Kings, it would certainly be a risk but it could also represent a great bargain as the Canucks couldn't ask for as much as they might have a few seasons ago. Los Angeles would probably look at how disasterous the season was for Vancouver and believe that bringing him to the Kings he could bounce back.
If the Kings get the Elias Pettersson from a few seasons ago, he would drastically change the roster and this offense. However, the trade within the division might be too big of a hurdle to overcome in trade discussions.
