Among all of the superstar players on this list offensively who the Kings and Holland in the front office could trade for on the block this upcoming offseason, Dallas Stars forward Jason Robertson might be one of the most intriguing for multiple reasons.
Robertson has been a proven 40-goal scorer in the West for the Stars in this past few years in the zone offensively. He's developed into one of the top playmakers in the zone offensively and a consistently threat to score the puck around and in front of the net for the Stars' core forward lines group.
If the Kings were to hypothetically make a deal on the block this upcoming offseason for Robertson from the Stars in Dallas, it could immediately address a gaping need for the active roster lineup. LA needs to address the need in the active roster lineup this upcoming offseason in the summer to get a top-six scoring forward in the zone.
Robertson having roots and a connection to Southern California makes him a natural fit in LA with the Kings in the West in the Pacific Division, despite that not remaining a high likelihood possibility this summer in the offseason.
Of course, the Stars would have little incentive to move a player of Robertson’s caliber unless major salary cap pressures or bigger roster changes this upcoming offseason forced the organization into difficult decisions.
But the type of elite top-six scoring forwards who can immediately impact a game like Robertson rarely become available on the block in the league.
