A couple of weeks ago, the Los Angeles Kings and now-former interim head coach DJ Smith were eliminated from the playoffs and the 2026 offseason officially began for general manager Ken Holland.

General manager Ken Holland still needs to address multiple roster concerns, including additional offensive depth, middle-six scoring, and long-term help down the middle. The organization is also expected to finalize its coaching search sometime before free agency begins this summer.

While the coaching search remains the organization’s top priority, Holland must also begin addressing several roster weaknesses before next season.

Moreover, the Calgary Flames could emerge as one of the more intriguing trade partners available this offseason. According to Anthony Di Marco of the Daily Faceoff, Calgary may be willing to discuss moving several players on the roster.

That possibility could create interesting opportunities for a Kings team still searching for practical roster upgrades within the Pacific Division.

Here are three possible trade targets from the Flames for the Kings to potentially kick the tires on this offseason on the block in the Pacific Division.

Blake Coleman, C

The player that would probably be the best and most realistic option on the trade block this offseason for the Kings from the Flames is veteran center, Blake Coleman. The 34-year-old two-way center has one year left on his contract, which pays him an average annual value of around $4.9 million.

Coleman has the championship experience and proven veteran status in the locker room, including multiple Stanley Cup rings with the Tampa Bay Lightning in the early 2020s decade. He has also remained a productive secondary scorer, recording at least 20 goals in two of the past three seasons with Calgary.

Coleman’s physicality, playoff experience, forechecking ability, and leadership could make him an ideal complementary addition for a Kings roster still trying to become a more complete postseason team.
