Evgeni Malkin

Evgeni Malkin could easily become one of the most intriguing veteran free agents available next offseason if he reaches the open market this summer. The future Hall of Fame center has spent his entire NHL career with the Pittsburgh Penguins, and he's expressed a strong desire to finish out his career in the league with the Pens.

Yet, with the Pens transitioning toward a younger roster and the organization struggling to remain a legitimate contender in the East in this past few years, questions remain surrounding Malkin's long-term future with the franchise in Pittsburgh.

At 39 years old, Malkin still possesses the skill, playmaking, and proven experience in the locker room necessary to help a contending team in a top-six role. For the Kings, Malkin could bring short-term upside capable of bringing additional offensive playmaking and postseason experience in the middle of the lineup.
