Kings’ Stanley Cup odds are disrespectful
We are entering the final two weeks of the NHL season and teams across the league are starting to lock up their playoff berths.
With that being the case, now is the time to start looking at the odds board to see each team’s chances of winning the Stanley Cup.
When I look at the list of teams, there’s one that sticks out more than the rest: the Los Angeles Kings.
Odds to win the Stanley Cup
There are the obvious teams at the top of the odds board, including the President Trophy winning Boston Bruins and the defending champion Colorado Avalanche. But, if you want to bet on either of those two teams, there’s no value at this point of the season.
Instead, we need to look at teams further down the odds list to find value. How about the Los Angeles Kings at +2000?
The Kings have been undervalued all season from a betting standpoint and now with two weeks to go, they still have a great shot to win the Pacific Division. They’re just three points back from the division-leading Golden Knights, and one point back with a game in hand on the Oilers.
Despite being close in the standings, the Golden Knights and Oilers have much shorter odds at +1200 and +1100 respectively. What gives?
The Kings have been playing some solid hockey and have been getting great play from their goaltenders, specifically from their trade deadline acquisition, Joonas Korpisalo. He has a .934 save percentage since joining the Kings.
The Kings also have the best record at home in the Western Conference, sitting at 25-9-4.
If you’re looking for a value bet to win the Cup, look no further than Los Angeles. This team is being disrespected and undervalued by oddsmakers, so feel free to jump on the Kings train with me and place a bet.
