Everyone loves a good celebration, so whether you are cutting your own cake or wishing friends and family a happy birthday today, here are a few LA Kings players, past and present, who were also born on this day.

Scott Barney – 1979 (44)

LA Kings Right Wing (2002 – 2004)

Scott Barney was an LA Kings second-round draft pick (29th overall) at the 1997 NHL Entry Draft. Unfortunately, due to injuries, he didn’t make his debut until Feb. 9, 2003, against the Dallas Stars. After five games and no points, he rebounded with 11 points in 19 games in 2003-04 before moving on to play with the Atlanta Thrashers.

Although he finished his NHL career with 11 points, Barney had a respectable professional hockey career in various European leagues before retiring in 2018. Shortly after hanging them up, he got into coaching and is the current head coach and general manager of the Humboldt Broncos in the SJHL.

Bryan Campbell – 1944 (79)

LA Kings Center (1967 – 1970)

Bryan Campbell was an undrafted prospect who joined the LA Kings at 23, making his NHL debut against the Philadelphia Flyers on Oct. 14, 1967. During his first campaign (44 games), he collected 21 points but stumbled in his sophomore season with just three points. Although he played more games in his third season, the Kings traded him to the Chicago Blackhawks on Feb. 20, 1970.

After 261 games in the NHL, where he earned 106 points, Campbell moved over to the WHA, where he found success, posting four seasons of 20 or more goals, finishing his career in 1978, amassing 376 points in 433 games.
