Blake Lizotte won’t be going anywhere next season as the LA Kings re-signed him to a new one-year deal worth $800,000 US.

Pending RFA Blake Lizotte will be calling the City of Angels home for at least another year as the LA Kings signed the undersized forward to a one-year contract.

The Kings announced the signing on Thursday, which is worth $800,000.

Undrafted, Lizotte was signed by the Kings in April 2019 before scoring nine goals and 24 assists in parts of three seasons with the club. This includes three goals and seven assists in 41 games in 2020-21.

A native of Lindstrom, MN, Lizotte has established himself as a reliable forechecker with plenty of defensive upside. The 23-year-old will look to continue this as the Kings hope for a rebound year in 2021-22.

While there was some speculation that he was a potential target for the Seattle Kraken in next month’s Expansion Draft, Lizotte’s signing all but eliminates that.
