It has been announced that the LA Kings will be hosting the Vegas Golden Knights this coming September in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Frozen Fury is back. Well, sort of. The LA Kings will be playing host to the Vegas Golden Knights in Salt Lake City, UT, this coming September as part of the 2021 preseason.

For the first time since 2016, Frozen Fury has returned with a new venue. Salt Lake City’s Vivint Arena will be the new home to the event in what will be a three-year series.

The Kings host the Golden Knights at Vivint Arena on Sept 30, 2021, before the two teams square off again in 2022 and 2023 for the regular-season warmup in Utah’s capital.

The original Frozen Fury series took place annually in Las Vegas but the event was discontinued in 2016 once the Golden Knights began to play in the NHL, thus making the city no longer league-neutral.

The new version of Frozen Fury may not quite be the same as the original but you can be sure that countless fans will be excited for a new neutral site nonetheless. This will especially be the case with the Kings continuing their heated rivalry with the Golden Knights, even if it is a preseason tilt.

The Kings are no strangers to SLC, though.

The silver-and-black played two preseason games in Utah’s capital in 2018 and again in 2019 when they “hosted” the Vancouver Canucks.

Tickets for 2021 Frozen Fury will go on sale on June 25 online at vivintarena.com, and despite the recent restrictions due to COVID-19, the game will be expected to be at “full capacity.”

Per the arena – “Ticketmaster is the only authorized ticketing outlet for events at Vivint Arena. The walk-up box office is currently closed for COVID-19 health and safety precautions.”

Kings fans will have something to look forward to and for the time being, a definitive date to circle on their calendars. The 2021-22 regular-season schedule will be released later this summer.

Frozen Fury is back, and it should be exciting.
