The LA Kings announced on Friday afternoon that they have signed prospect defenseman Helge Grans to a three-year entry-level contract.

The LA Kings continue to build for the future and an example of that came on Friday afternoon when they announced the signing of defenseman Helge Grans to an entry-level contract as per Zach Dooley of LA Kings Insider.

Grans was drafted by the Kings last October (Round 2, 35th overall) and has played the last three seasons for the SHL’s Malmo Redhawks, scoring three goals in nine assists in 43 games this season. The 2020-21 season was Grans’ first at the senior level, helping Malmo advance to the play-in round of the SHL postseason.

A native of Ljunby, Sweden, Grans is known for his puck-moving abilities and his exceptional passing. It is expected that he will remain in Malmo next season as he signed with the Redhawks for the 2021-22 season, although having just turned 19 last month, there is still plenty of time for Grans’ development.

The entry-level contract is a three-year deal worth $925,000 annually.
