Scouting Report

"January 2021 – Sillinger had a big rookie season with Medicine Hat in the WHL, finishing fourth in team scoring with 22 goals and 31 assists for 53 points in just 48 games. With the WHL not set to begin play until February, Sillinger was loaned to Sioux Falls of the USHL where he has tallied six goals and four assists in his first six games. Sillinger’s offensive talents are undeniable. He has a great shot and a nose for the net, able to manipulate defensive coverages and attack soft spots with good anticipation. He can stick handle in a phone booth and has good reach to pull in contested pucks away from his body. Sillinger’s effort in the defensive can be lacking at times but his biggest issue is his skating ability, or lack thereof. He has stiff hips and employs an inefficient, lumbering stride that he will have to work hard to improve if he is going to be able to take advantage of his offensive skills at the next level.
