LA Kings: Three things to watch over final eight games

2. Anze Kopitar within striking distance of 1,000 career points
The LA Kings captain has been about a point-per-game player this season, so that trend alone should lend belief that Anze Kopitar will achieve the historic 1,000 career points milestone sometime within the final eight games.
He inched closer on Friday, scoring the game-winning goal, moving within three of the mark.
Only three other players in Kings history have achieved 1,000 career points. Aside from this season, it will be interesting to see if Kopitar can catch Marcel Dionne‘s franchise-leading 1,307 points. Kopitar has put together one of his most productive seasons at the age of 33.
He’s under contract for three more seasons. It could be a tough challenge for him, but I suppose anything is possible.
