Kim Nousiainen, the LA Kings fourth-round pick in 2019, tallied his eighth goal of the season for KalPa on Wednesday.
After going three games without a point, Kalpa’s Kim Nousiainen tallied his eighth goal of the season in the team’s 3-1 loss on Wednesday. The LA Kings selected the 20-year-old in the fourth round of the 2019 NHL Amateur Draft, but he remains unsigned and has yet to make the transition to the North American rink.
Nousiaine’s size has been the primary knock on him, standing at 5-foot-9, 179 pounds. He can get pushed around, but he’s also shown the ability to score some pretty goals from the blue line.
Before the three-game scoreless streak, the Kuopio, Finland native had goals in two straight and points in six of his last seven contests while consistently logging around 20 minutes per game.
Through 43 games, Nousiainen has eight goals and 21 points for KalPa playing in Finland’s top hockey league.
