Recapping the LA Kings prospects for the week of February 1

Your weekly LA Kings prospects roundup.

Alexander Dergachyov

The LA Kings third-round in 2015 had a goal in two assists for Vityaz of the KHL. The 6-foot-5 forward’s goal this week came on the man advantage. He also tallied four penalty minutes and five shots on net.

Alex Laferriere

The 2020 third-round pick took a bit to find his footing this year after Harvard canceled the season. Laferriere returned to Des Moines of the USHL and scored the game-winning goal for the Buccaneers on Friday night. The 18-year-old registered six shots on net as well.

Jordan Spence

Spence was traded from Moncton to Val-d’Or in early January. After tallying three points (1 G, 2 A) last week, Spence was held scoreless in the Foreurs only game this week.

Martin Chromiak

In his first game since the World Juniors, Chromiak is currently on loan to Dukla Trencin of the Slovakian Hockey League and was held scoreless in both games this week. In 21 games with Dukla this year, Chromiak has six goals and 14 points.

Bulat Shafigullin

The 2018 third-round pick tallied two goals in three games for Neftekhimik of the KHL this week. Combined, he had two penalty minutes and ten shots on goal.

Kim Nousiainen

The Finnish defenseman has been playing with KalPa of the Liiga for the 2021 season, registering four goals and 11 points in 31 games. In two games this week, Nousiainen logged an assist and four shots on goal. In Friday’s contest, he logged a season-low 5:22 on-ice time. We’re still gathering information as to why that was the case.

Kasper Simontaival

Coming off a fantastic showing at the 2021 World Juniors, Simontaival is with Tappara of the Liiga. He played in three games this past week but failed to record a point while logging three shots on goal.

Helge Grans

Grans has three goals and ten points for the Malmo Redhawks on the season. The LA Kings second-round pick in 2020 saw time in all three of Malmo’s games this week. While he didn’t log any points, he skated a season-high 18:00 on-ice time last Tuesday in the Redhawks 2-1 shootout victory.

Andre Lee

For UMass Lowell this year, Lee has seven points in eight games. Lee had a big night on Saturday, scoring two goals and an assist in UMass Lowell’s 6-7 defeat.

Brock Faber

Like Simontaival, Faber is coming off an impressive showing at the World Juniors. The Kings 2020 second-round pick had a difficult week with Minnesota getting swept by Wisconsin. Faber had no points and two shots on goal in two contests.

Ben Meehan

Playing with Andre Lee at UMass Lowell, the big defenseman has five assists in eight games thus far. He logged one of those assists on Friday in the 2-1 loss against the University of New Hampshire.

Daniel Brickley

Brickley opened the scoring for the Ontario Reign in 2021. He registered three shots on net in Ontario’s 5-2 loss on Saturday.

Rasmus Kupari

Kupari netted the other goal for Ontario on Saturday while logging two shots on net.

Tyler Madden

Logged the primary assist on Kupari’s goal.

Quinton Byfield

The LA Kings 2020 first-round pick logged his first professional point on Saturday, assisting on Brickley’s goal.
