LA Kings: Three unforgettable moments of Week Two
The LA Kings finish off the week on a winning note, earning a 6-3 win against the St. Louis Blues.
With their first road of the season in the books, the Kings improve to 2-2-2 on the year in one of the club’s best efforts thus far.
The Kings went 2-2-0 this past week, splitting wins against Colorado and St. Louis.
Here are the three best moments of the week for the Kings:
Carl Grundstrom’s First Goal of the Season
After scoring five goals during his first stint with the Kings in 2018-19, Carl Grundstrom was held without a goal in 14 games last season. Still, there is plenty of promise surrounding the Swedish youngster, and on Sunday, he scored a beauty of a goal in St. Louis for his first of the year.
Quality definitely tops quantity in this case, but Kings fans will be hoping that this is a sign of things to come to Grundstrom. Regardless, his tally gave the Kings a huge boost in momentum for the period and for the game, and if this is a sign of things to come, it will be more than welcomed.

Timely Goaltending
The LA Kings have had their share of issues with puck-handling and defense. That’s the bad news.
The good news is that both Jonathan Quick and Cal Petersen were on top of their respective games, even if the team didn’t necessarily come away with a victory.
In his two games this week, Jonathan Quick went 2-0-0 with a 2.50 goals-against average and a .913 save percentage.

Cal Petersen’s numbers weren’t quite as impressive, going 0-2-0 with a 3.00 GAA and an .886 save percentage. These numbers, however, are no fault of Petersen’s as he, like Quick, was on top of his game all week.
Both Quick and Petersen made timely saves. Quick certainly earned both of his victories, and while Petersen didn’t garner any victories this week, the losses could have been a lot worse had it not been for No. 40’s heroics.
Adrian Kempe’s Three-Game Goal-Scoring Streak
First, it was Andreas Athanasiou. Now, it’s Adrian Kempe.
If there was any doubt of Kempe’s abilities entering this season, the 24-year-old has not hesitated in responding to the skepticism.
In fact, had it not been for a correction that saw Anze Kopitar later get credit for a goal on Sunday night, Adrian Kempe would be riding a four-game goal-scoring streak. Nevertheless, Kempe is riding high and is certainly a huge reason why the Kings are an exciting team to watch early on.
