LA Kings 2020 third-round pick Alex Laferriere scored the game-winning goal in overtime against Fargo on Saturday night.
The leading scorer for the Des Moines Buccaneers in 19-20, the LA Kings grabbed dynamic forward Alex Laferriere with one of their two third-round picks. And with the Ivy League canceling all winter sports, the Harvard commit returned to Des Moines for the 20-21 season.
He got off to a slow start this year, although a two-game suspension at the end of November certainly didn’t help matters. But it looks like the 19-year-old is starting to get hot, tallying three points in his last two games.
On Saturday night, with Des Moines and Fargo deadlocked at one goal apiece, Laferriere carried the puck through the neutral zone, diverting to the slot, and firing a shot past Fargo netminder Andrew Miller. Check out the goal and celly below.
