The LA Kings will unveil their fourth jersey on Monday, a tribute to the past. The team had released several teasers to this point.

Whenever the 2020-2021 season begins, the LA Kings will reportedly have a fourth jersey in the rotation. The NHL has partnered with Adidas to create “Reverse Retro” sweaters for all 31 clubs, with a tribute to its history in mind. And earlier this week, the LA Kings released a teaser of what their fourth jersey will look like.

Until 2013, Los Angeles had always featured the color purple in their jerseys but introduced a black and white (their current uniforms) alternate color scheme from 2008-2011. Beginning in the 2011 season, the organization swapped the alternate (black and whites) with their primary home jerseys, eventually retiring purple from the color scheme before the 2013-2014 season.

Beginning in 2016, the LA Kings introduced their Saturday home silver alternate jerseys for that season. They weren’t included in the rotation the following season but made a permanent return last year. All three jerseys plan to be in the rotation in the upcoming season, but it’ll be interesting to see how often the Reverse Retro uniforms are worn.

On Monday, each team will officially unveil their respective Reverse Retro jerseys, but the sweaters have already been leaked.

The Kings look to include the “Chevy” word logo prominently featured on the team’s uniforms in the late 1980s and 1990s. But the color scheme and striping will resemble that of the late 1960s and 1970s. Officially, Forum Blue will dominate the jerseys with solid yellow stripes on the elbow and waist with thin, white lines on either side of the yellow.

We’ll have a better idea of what the pants and socks look like on Monday.

Looking around the rest of the Pacific Division, the Vegas Golden Knights will introduce a red retro jersey. Obviously, the organization has only been around for a few seasons, so there’s less history to pay tribute to. However, they already unveiled their gold jerseys for this season.

Aside from the LA Kings sweater, which one is your favorite?
