LA Kings: Quinton Byfield’s response to Magic Johnson was perfect

In a recent social media post, LA Kings second overall pick Quinton Byfield had a hilarious response to Magic Johnson.

Being drafted with the second overall pick comes with enormous expectations. It also comes with an instant celebrity status. Quinton Byfield will be atop the LA Kings first line one day, and he’s already received several welcoming messages from notable Los Angeles public figures.

Among those include for former Lakers’ President of Basketball Operations, Magic Johnson. The former Lakers’ point guard took to Twitter to congratulate Byfield on his draft selection:

And Byfield’s response is hilarious.

At 6-foot-4, 215 pounds, he certainly has the size to be a point guard in the NBA. I love when players step outside of the formality of interviews and being a professional in their respective sports to provide some humorous moments.

The prized possession of the LA Kings also received welcoming messages from legendary rapper Snoop Dogg and Dodgers’ manager Dave Roberts in recent social media posts as well.

Byfield joins an already talented LA Kings prospect pool, which some considered to be the best in hockey. And that was before the organization even made a selection in the 2020 NHL Draft. There’s a chance that he sees the NHL at some point in the upcoming season, but he’s most likely to begin the year in Ontario.
