Quinton Byfield was taken with the second overall pick. Now see him in an LA Kings’ sweater. What number will he wear?

With the NHL Draft underway, Alexis Lafreniere went as expected to the New York Rangers number one overall. Quinton Byfield donned on a white suit and black bow tie leading up to Rob Blake, and the LA Kings selected the Sudbury Wolves forward with the second overall pick. He and his family celebrated at home in these unprecedented times, as the newest LA Kings slipped on a Kings’ sweater and hat.

While reports had leaked that the Kings were going with Byfield at number two, you never know until the pick is submitted. LA has added to an already deep center position, and there’s a chance that Byfield could see the NHL this season. It’s not likely to happen when the league begins — with the latest target date being January 1 — it would seem favorable for him to play at some point this season with the Kings.

And if you can’t wait to see what he looks like in a Kings’ uniform, look no further.

Byfield could slide in as the team’s fourth center, with the expectation of being a number one center in the future.
