Los Angeles Kings Broadcaster Bob Miller Leaves Hospital

Legendary Los Angeles Kings play-by-play announcer Bob Miller has left the hospital and apparently even watched the Kings beat the Colorado Avalanche.
The team announced that Miller is now at home, and it was pretty special that the Kings were able to give him such a solid performance on that encouraging day.
Miller suffered a mild stroke during All Star weekend. He has faced severe health problems recently. Miller missed the final three months of last season after undergoing quadruple bypass surgery.
He returned this season with a lighter workload. Miller was supposed to call all the home games and limit his travel schedule, although this unexpected complication has obviously put those plans in jeopardy.
I think it’s natural to hear the term “stroke” and immediately fear the worst. It sounds as though Miller is going to pull through this, which is really what’s most important.

It’d be a shame if he never announces another Kings game again, though, because he’s one of the best broadcasters to ever grace the air.
However, there’s more to life than just hockey, and in the chaos of a typical season, it’s easy to lose perspective.
It might seem like the world is collapsing when the Kings go on an extended losing streak, but moments like what happened to Miller have a way of reminding us to prioritize what truly matters.
During the 2nd period of the 5-0 shutout that the Kings put on the Avalanche, the crowd started chanting “Get well, Bob!”
When an entire arena full of strangers is sending all that positive energy to one individual, you realize the impact that person has on an entire community.
Very few people are as important to this franchise as Miller is. Whether or not he ever returns to call games remains to be seen, but his legend within this league and the city of Los Angeles will endure.
