That shade of gray looks so slick on an athlete. It may not be the exact color but this Northwestern uniform is one of my favorites. No hockey team has successfully pulled off gray so leave it to the Los Angeles Kings to innovate.
Those five diamonds in the neckline are a nice touch. The stripes along the shoulder for the Stanley Cups are pretty cool, too. I have a soft spot for visualized data and that’s essentially what this is.
The Los Angeles Kings have existed for 5 decades, one cool little diamond for each. The stripes, of which two is the perfect amount, visually represent the Stanley Cup pattern – one year on, one year off, one year on.
The Kings missed their chance to continue the pattern last year but perhaps the 50th Anniversary magic can fuel a run to the Cup.
The Kings will wear the jersey for 14 home games this season:
- October 22 vs Canucks
- November 5 vs Flames
- November 19 vs Devils
- November 26 vs Blackhawks
- December 10 vs Senators
- December 31 vs Sharks
- January 7 vs Wild
- January 14 vs Jets
- February 18 vs Panthers
- February 25 vs Ducks
- March 4 vs Canucks
- March 11 vs Capitals
- March 25 vs Rangers
- April 8 vs Blackhawks
