Los Angeles Kings vs. Minnesota Wild – Thursday, January 21, 2016
The Los Angeles Kings recently finished a stretch of three games in four nights from Jan. 16-19 with a 2-1 record and will kick off another three-in-four tonight when they look to go for three straight wins as they welcome the Minnesota Wild.
The meeting tonight will be the second of three games between the teams this season, with L.A. holding the upper hand thus far after a 2-1 overtime victory over the Wild on October 16.
Minnesota will be playing the second-half of back-to-back games after losing 3-1 last night to the Ducks in Anaheim in which former King Jarret Stoll scored the lone goal. The Wild enter tonight’s duel with L.A. having lost five straight games while scoring just one goal in their previous three. Their battle against the Kings tonight won’t make ending their current slide any easier.

The key for the Kings
Score two goals

Expect a defensive battle. A very defensive battle. The Kings sit second in goals against (101) while the Wild sit fifth (109) while L.A. is 14th in goals for (121) and Minnesota is 21st (114).
If the Kings can score two goals, they should be able to win this hockey game. Given the Wild’s their recent scoring woes combined with L.A.’s strong defense and goaltending, two goals should be plenty for the Kings to work with and pull out two points.
Of course, three goals would be better just to be safe, but you get it.
