The Los Angeles Kings beat Chicago, so now can they beat the Boston Bruins? The Boston Bruins are 26-16-7, while the Kings are 21-15-12. Both teams have been struggling to find themselves as teams, and both have suffered for it. But today could be a redemption game for both of them.
The Bruins have just started to get back into motion, and currently have a leg up on the Kings who have only won 3 games in their last ten. The Bruins have had a much better last ten, with winning 7 of their last ten games.
But the biggest number of them all is that Road record that the Kings just can’t seem to bring up. They are 5-9-6 on the road, but are also just coming off of a road win against Jonathan Toews and Company. The Bruins have a steady home record of 15-7-4, and are looking to make it tough on the Kings who are having troubles on the road.
The Kings have a better power-play than the Bruins, with 19.6% on the power-play compared to the Bruins 18.1%. But here’s the kicker. The Bruins have a much better record on the penalty kill with a solid 83% versus the Kings 77.7%. Both teams need to stay out of the penalty box if they don’t want this game to get out of hand.
Los Angeles Kings
Last meeting, the LA Kings beat the Boston Bruins 2-0 with the winning goal coming from Tanner Pearson, who is still out of the lineup, and likely will be for the rest of the season.
The Kings are one game out of a possible playoff spot, so they need put all they have out on the ice for not only this game, but for the rest of the season. Every game counts, and that cannot be stressed enough.
But enough with the numbers, we’ll get back to those in a bit. Let’s take a look at the starting lineups.
Kings Offense
Gaborik — Kopitar — Brown
King — Carter — Toffoli
Clifford — Stoll — Williams
Lewis — Shore — Nolan
Kings Defense
Muzzin — Doughty
Regehr — Martinez
McNabb — Greene
Goalies
Quick, Jones
Keep an eye on Nick Shore, as he’s still newer to the NHL, and we’re hoping he can light it up. Maybe he can get his first NHL goal tonight against the Bruins!
Bruins Offense
Causeway Crowd
Lucic — Krejci — Smith
Marchand — Bergeron — Eriksson
Kelly — Soderberg — Pastrnak
Paille — Campbell — Cunningham
Bruins Defense
Chara — Hamilton
Seidenberg — McQuaid
Krug — Miller
Goalies
Rask, Subban
Keep an eye on Bergeron as he looks to continue getting points and get the Bruins another home win.
In Conclusion
Go Kings Go!
