Manchester Monarchs Nick Shore Named CCM/AHL Player of the Week

Los Angeles Kings prospect Nick Shore has been voted the CCM/AHL player of the week.

Shore scored 3 goals, 7 points, and a +7 plus/minus for the Manchester Monarchs, the Kings American Hockey League affiliate, during the week of November 9th to November 16th.

Shore helped the Monarchs pick up four much needed wins over the week.   The victories helped the Monarchs improve to the best team in the Eastern Conference of the AHL with a record of 10-4-0.

The 22-year-old leads the Monarchs with 8 goals, +9 plus/minus, and is tied for the lead in points at 14 with teammate Jordan Weal.

Shore was drafted by the Kings in the third round, 82nd overall, in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.  This is his second season with the Monarchs after playing three years of NCAA men’s Division I with the Denver Pioneers.

Shore led the Monarchs in rookie scoring last year, the 2013-2014 season, with 14 goals, 24 assists, 38 points, and a +18 plus/minus in 68 games.

Shore will be presented with an etched crystal trophy to acknowledge his achievement before an upcoming Monarchs home game.

The Monarchs next game is at home in Manchester on Wednesday, November 19th at 7:00 a.m. PST (10:00 a.m. EST) against the Worcester Sharks.
