Tickets to the Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fest are sold out. Kind of.
The Los Angeles Kings are kicking off the 2014-2015 season with Hockey Fest 2014 presented by Pizza Hut. Events are scheduled from Saturday, September 13th through Monday, Sept. 15th.
Saturday the 13th is the Kings 5k run and family walk to benefit the Hydrocephalus Association. Participants can register early (until 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 12th) for $35 or the day-of the event for $40. The event start is Village Runner at 1811-A Catalina Avenue, in Redondo Beach. Check-in and walk-up registration is at 6:30 a.m. and the race is scheduled to begin at 8:00 a.m. Registration fee includes a free commemorative t-shirt, and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers in each category win a commemorative Kings puck! The Family Fun walk will feature appearances by Kings players.
Sunday the 14th is Kings Hockey Fest 2014! It takes place at the Toyota Sports Center (555 N Nash Street, El Segundo). Doors open at 7:00 a.m. Hockey Fest events include a town hall style meeting with members of the Kings hockey operations staff, a kid’s press conference with select players from the team – kids can grill their favorite stars for a total of 45 minutes! – Hollywood game night, and pictures with the guest of honor: The Stanley Cup. The Cup will be at the event and available for fan photos from 7:30-9:30 a.m. Doors close at 4:00 p.m.
The Kings alums roster includes: Luc Robitaille, Rob Blake, Sean O’Donnell, Mike Donnelly, Daryl Evans, and Craig Johnson. Rogie Vachon and Glen Murray will serve as honorary coaches.
Tickets for Hockey Fest are unfortunately sold out. Fans can get access to the event if they purchase tickets to the Alumni game ($150 per ticket). Capacity for the game is limited to 500 spectators. It will be an intimate affair to get a close up look at some of the games all-time greats.
The night concludes with the Kings Royal Feast. It’s a dinner event at Salt Creek Grille (2015 E. Park Place, El Segundo) that starts at 6:30 p.m. and ends around 9:00 p.m. Fans will have the ability to mix and mingle with L.A. Kings alumni, Russian Stars players, L.A. Kings team personnel, broadcasters and members of the 2014-2015 Kings squad. There will be signature dishes, a silent auction of Kings memorabilia and guests will receive a secret, limited-edition L.A. Kings gift produced only for this event.
Tickets are limited. They’re also expensive at $500 a piece, but it’s an all-day, all-inclusive pass that includes access to all Hockey Fest events, entrance to the alumni game, and the dinner. Proceeds go to the Kings Care Foundation.
Monday wraps up with the Kings annual charity Golf Tournament at Pacific Palms Conference Resort (1 Industry Hills Parkway, City of Industry, CA). Registration and a breakfast begin the event a 8:30 a.m. and a cocktail reception, awards presentation and silent auction cap off the end of the afternoon at 4:30 p.m. Further information for groups can be found at the Kings website. Proceeds of the golfing event will go to the Kings Care Foundation and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
