Things have been tough in Edmonton this season as it looks like another finish among the NHL’s worst is all but a sure thing. However, the Oilers put together a decent week of hockey going 2-1-0 and grabbing four out of six possible points. They did in fact close the gap between them and the Flames in the Pacific Division cellar.
The Oilers opened the week with a 5-3 win over the visiting Tampa Bay Lightning. Edmonton’s only loss of the week came the next game when they lost 5-2 to the Blues. The Oilers finished out the week with a 4-3 overtime victory over the visiting Penguins.
