2 studs, 1 dud from the LA Kings impressive win vs. Chicago

The LA Kings finally notched a win in the standings in regulation this season with a nice 3-1 win in the second and third period over the Blackhawks on the road on Sunday.

Dud: Cody Ceci, D

On a night like this when the Kings get their first regulation and multi-goal win this fall early in the regular season, it's hard to pick a dud for the team in this win over the Blackhawks.

If we have to pick a dud for the Kings in this game from the win over the Blackhawks, the nod goes to defenseman Cody Ceci for a couple of reasons. First, Ceci was on the ice for the Kings when the Blackhawks scored the game's first goal in the first period from Bedard on a puck that squeaked past Forsberg in net.

Ceci also had one flubbed puck that resulted in a defensive zone giveaway for the Kings in the second period. He was the Kings' only defenseman in this game who registered a Corsi for percentage below 50 percent (per Natural Stat Trick).

All in all, there aren't many bad things I have to say about the way the Kings played tonight on the blue line in the win over the Blackhawks. The Kings more than doubled up the Blackhawks' shots on goal and scoring chances in the game's final 30 minutes. And the Kings outscored the Blackhawks 3-0 in the game's final two periods in the second and the third.
