For the second time in as many days, the Los Angeles Kings and head coach Jim Hiller faced a quality team from the Western Conference in the Central Division on the road this weekend on Sunday.
Kevin Fiala's second-period goal pushes the Los Angeles Kings to their first regulation win by multiple goals this regular season
The Blackhawks drew first blood on a goal from Connor Bedard seven minutes into the opening frame for Chicago. The tone on the ice in the first period in the offensive zone on both ends of the ice was set by the Blackhawks in this game. Chicago outshot the Kings 11-6 in the game's first period, and the Blackhawks more than doubled LA's scoring chances in the opening frame.
Penalties and discipline continued to be an issue for the Kings in the opening frame in the first period this afternoon vs. Chicago. In the first period alone, the Kings gave the Blackhawks two power-play opportunities on special teams.
The Kings commanded the pace of play on both ends of the ice in the second period. Alex Laferriere and Kevin Fiala scored a couple of games in a span of under 90 second in the game's second period to take their first lead of the contest this evening.

Fiala's goal was scored on a beautiful wrap-around where he got past the Blackhawks' defense and beat Chicago goalie Arvid Soderblom on the far post for the marker.
The Kings and Blackhawks traded momentum blows and tilted the ice in different directions a few times in the game's final period in the third. Joel Armia put the game away for the Kings late in the third period with an empty net goal with under two minutes to go.
Armia's insurance marker on the empty net ensured the Kings would get their first regulation win of the regular season over the Blackhawks on Sunday.
Here are two studs and one dud from the Kings' 3-1 win over the Blackhawks on the road on Oct. 26.
Stud: Kevin Fiala, F
The Kings' top six forward core up front early this regular season has played well on both ends of the ice, including in the offensive zone. Fiala and Adrian Kempe were the Kings' team leaders in points scored early this regular season coming into this evening's game against Chicago.
By the end of the second period this evening, Fiala and Kempe both had five goals this season for the Kings, including double-digit points scored for the latter of those two LA standout wingers this fall.
Fiala's amazing second-period goal for the Kings put the Blackhawks down for the first time going into the third period in any game this season.

Kings' announcer John Kelly called it perfectly, saying "that was lit!" on Fiala's wrap-around goal for the Kings in the second period tonight.
